Landlord Quick Tip
Tip #93: Gone Fishin’
It’s a good idea to have a provision in your lease or house rules requiring tenants to notify you if they are planning a long vacation — say, more than two weeks away.
That way, you avoid having to wonder whether they’ve abandoned the property.
If rent will come due while the tenant is planning to be away, be sure to remind them it is still due on time and subject to late fees, and if need be, hand them an envelope with your mailing address.
